Ouch, my toes! I am a newbie at skimboarding so I offer no expertise. The Woody is a heavy board, (wood – duh) and when compared to the really expensive ‘pro’ lightweight boards, well, there isn’t really a comparison; except when it comes to price. The Woody is an inexpensive quality made board for someone who just wants to try out skimming without spending $500 on a ‘pro’ board to do so. It took me two days of swallowing gallons of ocean water and many, many hard spills to finally get the hang of skimming…

A really solid and fun board I really enjoy this board for many reasons.#1 It’s solid. You can tell it’s made of quality wood and coated with a durable gloss, which keeps it water tight and keeps it from showing wear as easily.#2 Low rocker. Meaning it’s almost flat. I didn’t think I’d like that since the board I learned on had a noticeable curve to it, but I really seem to be skimming farther on my Vic board.#3 It’s got a little more weight to it than the cheap wooden boards.
