Worse than stock Actiontec/FiOS router antennas, but good for wifi cameras I bought this to increase the range on my FiOS router, primarily because my two outdoor foscam wifi cameras were getting very weak signal regardless of channel and were cutting in and out.After installing these antennas on the router and firing up InSSIDer to measure signal, my signal actually dropped about 15%.So I put my stock antennas back on and swapped my cameras antennas with these, and the camera signal reached a signal strong enough to where it now doesn’t drop…
For the price, it’s hard to beat Some folks have mixed reviews on this item.. what you have to keep in mind is that not every router or adapter are built the same, so you might get some which love this antenna, some which hate it, and others which don’t respond either way.I could not give 5 stars because one of the antennas (of the group I ordered) came with a busted wire. I see this as a QA issue.MY USE:I use these on Linksys WRTG54L and other routers.. had to get an adapter to screw them…
Works great, would have no hesitation purchasing again. I read several reviews about this product, and most seemed to say that they did not get an increase in signal, or in throughput.Personally, I my signal doubled and is working great. I used them on a Wireless N PCI adapter and they are working great. The magnetic bases really came in handy because I have a metal/wood desk. I was able to mount them with out any issues, the cables are plenty long, and the signal more than doubled. I also had to move my router about 75 feet further…
