These are very sturdy foam in heavy nylon with very strong Velcro flaps for wrapping around cargo or board racks. I am using mine for kayaking and transport on my flatbed that has a diamond weld plating that can get pretty abrasive on long trips to water. These give to the pressure of ratchet straps pulling down on the kayak, but do not go flat. They have enough substance and support to hold up the kayak’s hull off the bed firmly and keep the kayak safely on the back of the truck through…
I was a bit concerned these pads would be too firm for my Kevlar kayak but thankfully they’re just right. The vinyl cover is sturdy and the full length velcro holds strong. The straps are a bit thinner than I would like but they work. The rubber coated buckle is good for protecting your car or equipment.These fit perfectly on my vehicle with the roof rack and will also work on the car without them. Just strap them down to the roof.I think fifty bucks is a little bit high…
This is something that I’ve rigged up plenty of times, some foam to go on the crossbars and a couple of straps. This kit though is well-constructed and works really quite well. Foam with a removable outer waterproof fabric layer, two for the crossbars, each 2 foot long, and a pair of 8 foot cargo straps in matching black with red accents. For longer boards I like to do a front and back strap to the ends of the car, but I am a big guy.Anyway, these look good and seem to be of good…
