Great alternative to expensive racks, but lacks a lock. Kayak mount was a great fit on my Thule rack for my Kia Soul. It has an adjustable fit which made it easy to secure to my rack. I have a 12FT Field and Stream that secured in it just fine, 2 ratchet straps (one over each rack) and one in the front and I was good to go. I have driven on both city and semi-highway (45-55 mph) with ease, its sturdy and does not budge. I rinse after each trip as I typically drop my kayak in the ocean, so far I have not experienced any kind of rust or issues. Easy…
Good rack for the price. Wanted a cheap way to move a second kayak on top of my Escape, and these have done the trick so far. If you have seen a picture of the racks you should have no problem putting them together. Everything I needed was in the box and I had them put together in little to no time at all. Be careful to not over tighten the nuts, or you could damage the tubes.
